Hi there! If you find my blog helpful, then please take a second to subscribe to my RSS feed.
I recently came across an interesting online service called Entrecard that provides bloggers with the ability to create and drop their own virtual business cards on other blogs. This service is perfect for promoting a blog that needs a traffic boost.
Entrecard is the first and only free exchange network for 125×125 ads. Through this revolutionary platform, you can advertise your own 125×125 Entrecard on any blog in the network, for free, for a number of days.
Much like in real life, the more you network and visit other people’s blogs, the more you get out of this program. You can learn more by viewing Entrecard’s guide to getting started.
Google recently unveiled a free service to the general public called Google Sites. Google Sites is ideal for groups seeking a simple website solution. Groups can easily create, share and collaborate on a free website that is hosted by Google. You can integrate the site with Google’s collection of online applications, which includes word processing, e-mail, calendar, spreadsheet and presentation software. One of the best uses for this simple website would be creating a free intranet for your company that you could easily update yourself.
Google Sites makes it easy for anyone to create and manage simple, secure group websites. You can create and publish new pages with the click of a button, edit web pages like documents, and move content and pages around as you please. Information is stored securely online, and you decide who can edit or view the site. Google Sites is powerful enough for a company intranet, yet simple enough for a family website.
You can start creating your own group site by clicking here.

Dissecting the Mother’s Day Email from Walgreens
Mother’s day was last weekend.
I was really desperate to get my own mom something different. Something besides flowers, perfume or clothes. So, a couple of days ago I started scanning all of the recent newsletters and promotions that were in my email, and I came across a really neat offer from Walgreens to get a free 8×10 print in the store.
Overview:
Based on the offer, I can gather that Walgreens is trying to promote their W photo services while encouraging foot traffic in the store. The item being given away is not overly expensive for the company, but provides quite a bit of value for customers getting an 8×10 photo of a loved one. The fact that they made the offer valid for only 1-day also provides a sense of urgency, and works to prevent people from abusing the promotion.
The campaign is actually a really smart way to drive traffic to your website and offline business, and can be easily translated to almost any retail brick and mortar business. Armed with a few screen shots of the offer, I will now go ahead and dissect this email campaign for you. Read the rest of this entry »
